Frying an Egg

I could have fried an egg on the sidewalk yesterday, and today is no different. Who invented Chamsins (heat waves) anyway? Sheesh. It's so hot in my apartment, I actually have to leave it and seek out shade in order to be able to deal with the constant broiling. We don't have A/C, so until such time as we get it, we broil and use fans, alternately.

Things to do during a heat wave:
1.Fry an egg on a sidewalk
2. Stick your head in your freezer
3. Find shade, fast!
4. Sit in front of the fan all day.
5. Type on your computer (what else is there to do!)

I'm open to any and all suggestions. What are good things to do during a heat wave?

Take a shower, buy sandals and wear them in house with socks (better than sneakers with socks), drink, drink, drink, and drink some more.

Today isn't as bad, though, B"H...

A good thing to do is buy an airconditioner.

If you're at home, wrap a wet towel around your head.

Chanie- Shower-check, check, check. Drinking- definitely a good idea. It's at times like this I remember I live in a desert country.
And yes, B"H!! Not as bad for sure!

Itsagift- Froyo doesn't sound too bad at that- yum!

SD- I'm so sorry for you! Could we trade a bit? You send some cold, and I'll send you some blistering heat.

MIM- Good idea. However, I'm renting- and the people who's apartment I'm in hate A/C.

SuperRaizy- Ooh good idea. I'll try that one!

Why would someone hate the idea of ac?

Itsagift: A. It's expensive to put in.
B. We live on a mountainside, so they feel it is unnecessary.

NMF- no thanks, I prefer cold-believe it or not!
I was rubbing it in!

SD- You like the cold! Brrr. That was the best thing about leaving the US. No more frigidity. (Is that even a word?)

I don't get what living on a mountainside has to do with ac...but whatever!

NMF- yes, I think 'frigidity' is a word. Besides for that...I think most of the week has been tolerable. Just not the day you posted.

Itsagift- We get air from being on the side of the mountain, so they see A/C as a needless and unnecessary expense.
