Israeli Security Is The Best

After the terrorist in the US actually made it on to the plane with the makings of a bomb, some finally have started realizing that the US security system isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Jameel at the Muqata said it best- that it's about the people. That America wastes it's time checking unnecessary people- like a randomly selected 4 year old, for example, while Israel checks those who should be checked.

I found this interesting- that even the New York Times has opened a forum to discuss whether or not the US should adopt the Israeli version of security. One commentator said a true statement. In Israel- it's about safety. In the US, it's about convenience. Another remarked on how Israeli security officials are firm, thorough, and yet still polite and respectful.

Check it out here.

Edited: Even better, most of the comments are PRO Israel! Which is wonderful to hear.

Um, everyone, and I mean everyone, knew Israeli security was the best 30 years ago, and before.

It's only since 9/11 that the US has even tried to catch up a little bit.

Apples and oranges.

Dude with Hat- Yep.

Tesyaa- Yeah, but although they knew it, did they change anything, anything at ALL??
Now, maybe we will get change. I mean, the NY Times is NOT the most pro Israel, so the fact they have this at all, is kind of gratifying.

i think it may be different due to the fact that el al provides security for their (our) brothers and sisters, while everywhere else they are not. its about motivation

Well, every time the Israelis check someone who has no weapons or explosives, they really have a false positive from their interview.

So all in all their method is not very accurate.

Furthermore, it is quite discriminatory. Personnally, I hate the interviews where they ask you whether you are a jew without asking if you are a jew. It is just so fake.

yes but israeli security is also pretty problematic-lets say many people call it descriminating and so on. but the fact is-its eefective. and usa system is not. they miss tones of drugs and weapons and thousands of illigal immigrators...

American security stinks, but the planned explosion never actually happened. Just goes to show Who is really in charge.

I know what you mean, the US gov listens to silly phone calls but misses what is really dangerous.
